An "Unprecedented" Lack of News: Gretchen Carlson Asks Tough Questions, Like If President Uses "Unprecedented" Too Often
BUZZFLASH NEWS ALERT
by Jeffrey Joseph
At BuzzFlash, the lackluster reporting by FOX News has been pretty well-documented, but the fact that they have come to criticizing President Barack Obama for word usage indicates a new low. Given the holiday lull in the news programs, FOX may have wanted to come back strong for their FOX and Friends return. Instead, they ended up running stories like the one where Gretchen Carlson investigates if President Barack Obama used the term "unprecedented" too often in his public appearances.
Cutting away from footage of a police standoff with a murder suspect, FOX segued right into the next hard-hitting news story they had--essentially accusing President Barack Obama of having a limited vocabulary. For perspective, Gretchen Carlson and the rest of the Friends brought in Dana Perino, someone whose grasp of recent events has already come into serious question. Dana Perino chided the White House for using the term too often when she "learned in journalism school" not to use the term "unprecedented" too often because many things have already happened, this nugget of personal history and wisdom from the woman who forgot 9/11.
FOX News only earns some of the ire, though, as FOX was taking direction from Politico for the story. Very much like Politico, FOX also decided to go to a former employee of President George W. Bush for a comment to echo the intent to disparage President Barack Obama. Only the latter inherited the worst economic situation since the Great Depression and wars in Iraq and Afghanistan besides also becoming the first African American president elected, making the term "unprecedented" pretty founded for him, but FOX and its friends continue to balk at the idea that President Barack Obama's maneuvers could, in fact, be unprecedented after all.
FOX may go on to claim that the story ran outside of its "news" programming hours, hence the story primarily relies on the opinions of the hosts. Nonetheless, FOX News has shown time and again that its news programs frequently echo the misinformation presented by their own opinion commentators and other conservatives widely considered little more than entertainers. The attempt by FOX News to create stories out of nothing more than opinion has, therefore, been a long-standing issue. Their attempt to consistently write off such dubious forays into propaganda as "news" for so long is more incredible. In fact, there may only be one word to describe it--unprecedented.

Gretchen Carlson
I always wondered what happened to Gretchen when she disappeared from Cleveland TV news anchorwoman helper. Good riddance for Ohio but bad for her now larger bimbo-land audience.
