Over 30 health care reform advocates from the Ohio Health Care for America Now coalition visited Rep. John Boehner's West Chester office today in response to Boehner's Thursday claim that he's never met "anyone" who supports the public health insurance option.

"I'm still trying to find the first American to talk to who's in favor of the public option, other than a member of Congress or the administration," Boehner said in a Thursday press conference. "I've not talked to one, and I get to a lot of places and I've not had anyone come up to me -- I know I'm inviting it -- and lobby for the public option."

"[The public option] is about as unpopular as a garlic milkshake," Boehner added, noting that he had not consumed such a milkshake.

8th district voters took photos of themselves at Boehner's office to document that they have in fact lobbied John Boehner for the public option. Photos will be available as a slideshow at ProgressOhio.org. Activists also delivered a garlic milkshake to office staff.

"Polls show that the public option is supported by at least two-thirds of the American public, and 57 per cent of Ohioans," said Brian Rothenberg, Progress Ohio Executive Director. "Additionally, Health Care for America Now partners in Ohio have held many call-in days during which voters of the 8th district have called Boehner's office to tell him they support health care reform that includes a strong public option."

"If garlic milkshakes are on par in popularity with the public option as John Boehner claims, then perhaps it's time to drop tomato juice as Ohio's official state beverage -- 57 per cent of us are apparently enthusiastic fans of the garlic milkshake," Rothenberg added. "Instead, I suggest John Boehner spend a little less time on the golf course and get acquainted with the majority of us who support the public option."

Glad they did that.

I wonder if Boehner will acknowledge and apology.

Naw, he wouldn't do that, would he?

Just curious

How did the Congressman's staff treat you?  Did they acknowledge and actually accept the milkshake?

F--- You Boner

What Boner is saying, is that if you want the Public Option, then you aren't an American.  Go to H--- All Republicans.  DOWN WITH BI-PARTISANSHIP.
