Tea Baggers to Tote Guns, Bumper Stickers and Other Merch to Protests: Viva Angry American Consumption!

Hey, guys. Planning on a little shopping over the weekend? Well, be forewarned, the stores might be a little crowded, what with the coming holiday. No, I'm not talking about Easter or Passover. Some Americans might be stocking up for Tax Day Tea Parties.

Turns out you can combine your love for guns and your hatred of tax increases this Saturday! In Michigan, you can attend the Militia Field Day Tax Blast/Tea Party in Bancroft, MI. Click here for the flier (but consider yourself warned: There are some pretty disturbing pictures of really little kids learning how to shoot guns, with frightening commentary to match).

If you've got plenty of guns, but are looking for something to read during your ride into town on Wednesday, pick up the "Living in an Obama Nation" booklet from Grassfire.org. They're having a special on the booklets as well as "I Resist" bumper stickers just for Tax Day Tea Parties!  Woo hoo!

Plus, there are all kinds of Tax Day Tea Party T-shirts -- or TEA shirts, as Chicago organizer Eric Odom calls them -- available for pre-order. The movement even has its own store at Zazzle, and Odom reports more than $22,000 has been spent at the store alone. He says they'll spend the profits on free TEA shirts for their organizers and then split the remainder among conservative bloggers who promoted the Tea Party phenomenon. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me.

Hmm, I wonder if the Tea Baggers spent their tax rebates on these tchotchkes...

"Conservatives" don't recognize the ironies of their position. Limbaugh, Beck and others tub-thumping for "tea parties" are the filthy rich that a real revolution would leave hanging from lamp--posts, riddled with bullet holes and slimy with spittle. Leftists: arm yourselves.

If any of these "teabaggers" had any balls they'd up and emigrate to a "real" libertarian paradise like Haiti or Somalia or Afghanistan.

Hey Meg,

Do what we do best.. reframe their argument and make it your own. Let them throw away their shi**y foreign made anti-American crap.
That's not a protest, that's a typical Sunday afternoon around the homestead..

We should show them how it's really done up and have a lovely all USA made tea party to protest them and help America.

Starting with some USA grown teabags, South Carolina has a very nice brand , lets help those employees since their cheap and selfish Governor Sanford has rejected American stimulus dollars, then of course add a few fine homegrown California or Florida lemons, and most important several lovely USA made teapots , topped off with USA grown cattle supplying delicious BHT free milk or cream, served sweetened with our especially lovely Hawaiian cane sugar.

Of course when it's over.. we clean up the environment after ourselves.

Nationalism is not terrorism. And an adversary is not an enemy.

Conservatives keep agitating, keep bringing your silly revolution, keep on quoting Thomas Jefferson. Its your own neighbor thats going to turn you in for sedition. Conservatives, you are looking at waging a Contra-style conflict with American harrassment rather than support. Conservatives, you have no ability to wage any kind of successful attack against American targets - other than small hit and run jobs which you will be trying to carry out with no support. Maybe Osama Bin Laden can give you Conservatives a couple billion dollars. You think having a stockpile of guns means jack? Guns are the most available most plentiful resource on the planet, and it takes only weeks to learn to shoot. You will soon see whatever advantages you think you have evaporate, Conservatives, and you will be facing the most formiddable adversary the world has ever seen, Conservatives if you go to war against the American people then Conservatives you will lose and mercy in defeat is not a guarantee even from nice people such as we Americans who voted overwhelmingly for Barack Obama are, when you threaten to attack us maybe we wont be so nice, so watch it Conservatives, you back up your Thomas Jefferson talk with stupid actions then you will guaranteed be brought down very hard Conservatives.
