Word Cloud Analysis Gives Glimpse of What Really Matters on Obama & McCain Blogs

Political analysis comes in many forms, but "a pile of words"? A relatively new Internet phenomenon referred to as "word clouds" gives blog viewers a visual representation of what words appear most frequently on a given page or site.

John Schwenkler, a graduate student in philosophy at the University of California at Berkeley, used this tool to show what is most prominent on Sen. Barack Obama's and Sen. John McCain's campaign blogs (originally published in The Boston Globe). 

We thought the resulting images were such beautifully telling snapshots of what each campaign wants the public to see when they look at johnmccain.com or barackobama.com that we just had to share them with our readers. 

The more prominent the words are in the word clouds, the more frequently they appear in the source text.
